What is a Givlnk?

The Givlnk is a short URL to connect potential donors to your giving opportunity. There are currently two contexts where these links are used. For every campaign created, there is a Givlnk for it that links directly to its secure donation page. When sharing a campaign through our social media integration features, a Givlnk is dynamically created as part of the shared content to link back to either the page where the share was initiated on the web or if there is no URL available directly, to the donation pages of that campaign.

Campaign Givlnks

Each campaign has a Givlnk that links directly to the donation pages of that campaign. These 24 character links offer unique flexibility allowing organizations to extend their campaign marketing by including this simple link in a variety of promotional media.

Share a Givlnk wherever you can share a link:

• Include it in an email blast directly or wrapped around a “Give” button.
• Include it in your organization’s email signature.
• Wrap it around a “Give now” button on your website if the widget is not your style.
• Add it to print material
• Share it directly through your social networks (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIN, Myspace, …)

Each campaign’s Givlnk is accessible from that campaign’s “Publishing Setup” tab.

Thoughtful Social Media Sharing & Givlnks

Our sharing capabilities are thoughtfully designed to offer those sharing giving opportunities a chance to provide useful information to others as well as a means for recipients of that information to learn more. The Givlnks included in the shares are a key component of these capabilities.

Share from web page

\When a share is initiated from a web page resulting from a Giving Impact widget or Givlnk then we include a Givlnk in the share that will connect back to that web page where the share was initiated. The purpose is to help drive folks back to your web destinations to learn more about your organization, mission, and/or campaign.

Share from email or other source that does not provide a URL

When a share is initiated from a source that does not have or provide a URL, the Givlnk included in the share will link directly to the appropriate campaigns secure donation page.
